to the Odds & Ends
2022
During my semester abroad in London, I interviewed outsider artist Stephen Wright and dive into his House of Dreams. There, I find myself relating to his artistic process of using recycled materials. My junk-journaling hobby ingrained into my life is inspired by embellishing the mundane. I am the unlikely reuser, renewer, and recycler, and after meeting Stephen Wright I realize I'm not the only one out there.

Flash Delirium
2021

Using only found footage of 50s/60s/70s public education videos, I created this film with an emphasis on thematic relationships between audio and visuals through editing practices. This footage is redefined through the rhythm and cadence of MGMT's Flash Delirium, as conflicts of nuclear anxiety and petty classroom drama are juxtaposed.

It's Weird Now
2021
In this poetic docu-drama of sorts, a phone conversation narrates the visuals and expresses how difficult feelings can be to articulate. Especially during the final moments of a friendship. A moment based off of my own life in the midst of my freshman year at college.

BIO

I'm Bella Facchina! I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Film Production and Studio Arts. My interests in film include documentary, animation, and experimental works. Outside of film I enjoy printmaking, either through lino-printing, screen-printing, or hand-drawn. Ideally, I hope to combine my passion for film as well as studio arts in some form, but will continue to experiment in the meantime.
